County permit records show what homeowners in unincorporated Miami-Dade declared for fence work from November 2025 to October 2026.
Fences are one of the most common permits on Miami-Dade houses, and one of the easiest jobs to overpay for. The county records give a real reference point.
From November 2025 through October 2026, 2,773 fence jobs were filed on houses in unincorporated Miami-Dade County. The middle job was valued at $2,500, meaning half were valued above that and half below. The middle half of jobs fell between $1,500 and $5,000. The work was filed by 506 different companies.
Length, height, and material (chain link, wood, aluminum, vinyl, or masonry-style panels) explain most of the range. A short gate run and a full perimeter fence are both filed as one fence permit.
One caution: the value in these records is the declared value written on the permit when the job was filed. It is not a quote and not the final bill. The real cost can land higher or lower.
Treat $2,500 as a reference point, not a price. If a quote is far below the $1,500 to $5,000 range, ask what is left out. If it is far above, ask for a written breakdown. Then check that the company has filed similar jobs near you recently.
